John Sherwood - Musical Storyteller
John's program, "Rhythm and Song: an American
Heritage" integrates basic elements of music with American History,
highlighting one of our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson.
John's multi-media presentation includes a slide show, stories, and
songs, with student participation encouraged.
Grades K-3, in classroom or library for small
groups; 45 minutes, block booking preferred; available with ample
notice.
John Sherwood studied guitar with Dr. Nels Leonard at West Liberty College and music with Michael Cassidy. He has studied with ARTSBRIDGE storyteller Andy Fraenkel and participated in numerous creative workshops. John is the co-founder and director of "A Voice We Bring", a non-profit organization that brings storytelling and music to hospitals. He is the author of a children's book, The Sun Calling Contest, illustrated by his wife, Christine.
