The Labyrinth Project: Walking One Path Together ARTSBRIDGE introduced The Labyrinth Project to the Mid-Ohio Valley in January 2007 through a generous grant from the Sisters of St. Joseph's Charitable Fund. The project combined the arts and healing by adding live music to the Labyrinth walk. ARTSBRIDGE held multiple Labyrinth walks during 2007 and 2008. The labyrinth is an ancient walking meditation tool known by some as a path to introspection, healing or prayer. For others, it is simply the opportunity to quiet the mind and open the heart. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has only one path to the center and back out again. Labyrinths exist on nearly every continent, in every major culture, and in most religions, though they are not specifically religious. There are labyrinths at many major medical facilities in the United States, many schools, churches, and in the gardens or on the property of individuals. |
