Michelle Cornell                            Theatrical Storytelling

Michelle weaves her magic with stories told with movement and colorful props, masks, puppets.  She offers a variety of programs tailored for different age groups:  "Beauty Flies, Butterflies": Tales that celebrate the life cycle of the Butterfly; (grades Pre K-2)and "More and Better Insects and "Animals and their Habitats," "The Problem Solvers": folktales and legends that consider how different characters overcome challenges,"( grades 3-6) which focuses on local wildlife in tales and myths; "Harvest Tales". "Tales of Natural Phenomenon", "Harvest Tales," "American Folklore and History",  "Winter's tale," which combines tales from many countries. Audience participation and lots of imagination!

Age level: grades K-6  Time: approx. 45 minutes.  Availabilitly: September through Mid-December, 2007 and March 21st through June, 2008. Block booking preferred.  Requirements: large classroom or library with open space; in larger areas, a microphone on a stand will be needed.

Michelle received her B.A. in Theater at Evergreen State College, her M.F.A. in Theater at Ohio University, and her M.S.T. (Education) at SUNY Plattsburgh.  She taught drama at Columbus Children's Theater, Thurber House, Muse Machine in Dayton, OH.  Michelle is a storyteller for the Greater Columbus Arts Council; Artists in Schools Program.  She works as an actor with Cosi's Spectrum Players and the Piatt Castles of West Liberty.
