Ted Banning Colonial Silversmith/Blacksmith Ted is an award winning Metal Artist, who specializes in Early American metalwork, such as teapots, weathervanes, and gates. He introduces his art in an historical context and explains the whole process from design to completion. Students can then handle and/or operate the art objects Ted produces. Ted's artistry brings history alive! Ted received his B.A. in history, as a Stukes Scholar at Francis Marion University. He has had formal training in metal work and extensive classes in art and engineering. Ted produces art works for collectors and educators around the world. He teaches classes in metal working and speaks on his craft to various community groups. Age level: grades 4-6 Time: approximately 45 minutes.
